I love Mybloglog. Sure I may love another social networking site next week, but that’s besides the point.
I’ve been having a good chat with Rob over at Yackyack about the implications of privacy and possible hack jobs.
Meanwhile Soloseo has been hard at work, grafting away to provide us with some very cool Mybloglog hacks.
- Compare Community Visitors
- Compare Member Contacts
- Find Common Communities from Contacts
- Compare Community Members
- Find Community Members Not In Your Contacts
- Show All Visitors
I am surprised at the speed the hacks have been made. Does this mean that Mybloglog is easy to pull data from, and what does this mean regarding privacy issues?
As far as I am aware it is impossible to track a user across the Mybloglog network, but then Cheese string used to be impossible.
I think tools like these can really help people to connect, but it will also allow the spammer to simply add every community they can find. We have already seen spamming techniques at work on the Mybloglog network.
To be honest I’m not worried about the spam, but others will be and they may harm the system by scaring the community off.
So far so good.
