February 26, 2007 By Lyndon Antcliff

I love Google, I love Digg. But what if they loved each other?

What if they snuck off to a Las Vegas marriage parlour. Booked the Elvis and tied the knot?

What would their offspring be like?

There are a number of ways this could go. [Read more…] about If Google and Digg got married, what kind of child would they have?

Update 2014

Seven years since I created this page, probably worth updating it as it gets good traffic.

I found this excellent rescource recently:
250+ Free SEO Tools List

I thought I would gather some of the great how to seo lists around, they are great for newbies but also crusty old seos’ can learn a thing or two as well.
The list was culled from del.icio.us using “seo” as the search term. I then threw out tools and links to front pages only and a bunch of other stuff.

seo-affiliates.com

February 17, 2007 By Lyndon Antcliff

I recieved this unsolicited email this morning.

I can put your site at the top of a search engines listings. This is no joke and
I can show proven results
from all our past clients. If this is something you might be interested in, send
me a reply with the web
addresses you want to promote and the best way to contact you with some options.

Thanks in advance,

Sarah Lohman
Seo-Affiliates
124 Middle Ave
Cleveland, OH 44101

I visited their one page site, which was basically a squeeze page designed to grab your email, it even invites you to click a link to remove your link from their list. Funny, I can’t remember joining their list.

Is this a scam?

It definately is not a known and trusted seo company.

They seem to be connected to www.themarket-innovators.com, which is also an empty page bereft of contact details and trust.

Obviously something is not quite right here. I suggest you don’t employ seo-affiliates.com to get you the number one rank for ringtones.

February 16, 2007 By Lyndon Antcliff

The H1 tag is an important element on the list of things to help you to rank.

Whilst not the most important tag it is still a useful way to emphasise the meaning of your content. Both to search engines and human readers.

WordPress for example puts the Title of the individual post into a H1 tag when listing snippets of multiple posts on one page. This would be the logical way to organise the content as it denotes content that is separate to each other, but related to the site topic. [Read more…] about Secrets of the H1 tag revealed
