As a writer I get confused when publishers ask me where can they find great writers. “Have you tried the Internet?” Usually gets a blank stare.
Apparently it’s really hard to hire great writers. I have only on few occasions hired writers to do work, which has probably made me a lot poorer as I take way too long over commissions. In fact I think over 95% of the writing I do for others is late. [Read more…] about Where can I hire a writer?
Do you groan when you read, “Did you know that content is king?”. I do. But only because it’s an old phrase that has be over-used and misused countless times.
More and more this year I’m thinking it’s the year of content. Last year was the year of Linkbait. But, lets face it, linkbait is content. A “ten cups of Colombian coffee an hour”, kinda content, but content never the less.

In December 2005 I wrote a blog post for Darren Rowse on Problogger.net , that’s over two years ago. It’s not a bad little article, although I no longer agree with a couple of things. Keep your posts down to 250 words! No chance, a post should be as long as it needs to be. It’s the information people are interested in not the format. Restricting a post to a short length means you do not have the ability to explore the subject adequately, it places a restriction that is basically meaningless.
